Night: _______ It's photometric weather no moon, good seeing. SN 01:08Z run 5792 stripe 82 N: Seeing below 1.5" since frame ~20. The ramp starts at lambda 118 frame 44. Science starts at lambda 120 (RA=305), frame 57 at the same time the twilight ends. Science ends at frame 806 , lambda -128 (RA 57). The ramp ends at frame 819, lambda -126 09:12Z endDrift, end of 5792 run all run in photometric no moon conditions and good seeing. Teamster problems during run 5792 -> see the problem section. BIAS 09:23Z run 5792, bias with the imager on the telescope. We used 18 minutes before legacy stripe could have been started. The bias was shortened a little (30 frames instead of 32). LEGACY 09:40Z run 5794, Legacy 20, N: Good since the beginning. The ramp starts at frame 11, lambda -66, science from frame 24, lambda -64. Skippy is NOT running. It runs occasionaly on some frames (from astrom), but only if we ask it to run on a single frame. On other frames or if asked to run on more than one frames it gives an error (see the problem section). Fits file headers looks ok to us both, those on which skippy runs and those it does not. Maybe we are missing something? Also skippy finds anly a few catalog stars for that stripe and then 1 or 2 stars to compare with. So we don't beleve it's results. Since we did not have the pointing problems tonight, we decided to continue "blindly". Please could someone look at the data and tell us what is going on? End of the science on frame 124, lambda -49, ramp ends on frame 137, lambda -47. 10:56Z Moon rise (not visible yet). End of 5794 run. 11:09Z Changed to spectroscopy, cart 1 plt 2226 mounted. We lost 10 minutes to the telescope balance corection. Stars on go to field. But we couldn't grab instruments due to backup relay servers, (error message in the problem section). We looked at the ports and port 1 was connected, we logged out that port, but still couldn't grab instruments. Then we lost servers, restarted them, but still grabInst couldn't get instruments, We ended up rebooting the spectro crates, restarted the servers one more time, did a couple of bias to fix the exposure numbers and finaly were able to grab instrunstruments. Seeing was 0.98" :(((. We took one 10 minutes exposure in twilights, then postcalib to see if that exposure is useful. No, the last exposure is bad r1 s/n < 2. 13:07Z endnight rejoyced. We tried to restart the teamster several times, but with no success. A strange thing was that the command seemed to be accepted (teamster restarted) but no gangs transfered. Also the command: iop>teamster 60 im -force was accepted only from one observer iop window and if run from the other the following error message was shown: im> teamster 60 imager -force Starting a new teamster; moving old one to the Meadowlands Error: Failed to kill old teamster, 7261 im> who am i observer pts/30 Oct 29 23:06 (We checked several times that all iop sessions were run by an observer). We called Kurt and asked him if he can check on DAs. He did. Unfortunately above gang transfer was the last one we saw in the murmur log. So we tried to restart the teamster again, but were expelled from the iop window. Eric was called. He helped us to restart the gang transfer. What we learned was that one should use the whole flag for teamster command: iop>teamster 60 imager -force, not just "im"! But the problem was the teamster did not complain about "im" flag at all, just accepted it. PR 6711 was filled.
