Photomectric skies. Seeing was worse than 1.5" from frame 500. Due to seeing was over 2", we switched to spectro, and finished plate 2265. Afternoon checkout found that sp1 on cart 1 has a slightly titlted fiber block. A PR is filed. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing: ----- Afternoon checkout completed without problems. Dithered flats taken (frames 34416 - 34430). The last arc is no good, because we had to open the building to be ready by sunset. On the plus side, the mechanicals all returned to their original positions. Current positions are noted in the spectro focus notes at the end of the log. We noticed from our arcs that The first fiber block going to sp1at the slithead on cartridge 1 must be slightly tilted. The arc lines are slightly skewed on the leftmost block as viewed in an saoDisplay. A PR was files. Night ------ Bias: 00:32Z Run 5796: enclosure closed, dark on-telescope bias. SN: 01:10Z Run 5797: strip 82 S frame 22 (lambda 118) started ramp. Seeing was realy good, about 1.0". skippy was happy since the begining, in focus from frame 14. Science started at frame 34 (lambda 120). Seeing went to worse, about 1.7", at frame 130 for only a few frames. It was not clear what caused this. Seeing headed to acceptable at frame 290, and to bad (1.9") at frame 305. After 20 frames, it back to 1.4", and kept at about 1.5" till frame 500, then went to bad (1.8-2.1"). Science ends at frame 782 , lambda -128 (RA 57). The ramp ends at frame 796, lambda -126. 09:07Z endDrift, end of 5797 run all run in photometric no moon conditions but seeing was not good since frame 450. 09:20Z Changed to spectroscopy. 09:43Z Plate 2265 (cartridge 5): chunk. Stars on goto field. Seeing varied between 1.7" to 2.9". plate done. 11:29Z Plate 2266 (cart 6): Chunk. stars on goto field. Seeing is bad, over 3.0", effiency is very low. Azimuth brake -------------- When we tried to send telescope to instrument change position from spectro GUI, telescope did not move, and azimuth brake was engaged for unknown reason. But "axis init" from tcc did clear the brake, and we were be able to move the telescope.
