The sky began clearing up the last few hours and we were able to do some spectroscopy. All and all, not too bad for the shortest night of the year. Obtained good signal on Cartridge 2, plate 2564. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- All systems checked and working. No adjustment made to the spectro focus which is set for 14-15C (using Cart 2). Night: ----- 01:55Z - Began ventilation. Doors and louvers opened, fans and blowers on. 04:16Z - Stopped ventilation. Doors and louvers closed, fans and blowers off. We stopped ventilating because of strong radar returns and nearby thunderstorms moving in from the north and northwest. The thunderstorms moving in are also preventing us from mounting the imager and getting biases and flats. 06:39Z - Began ventilation. Doors and louvers opened, fans and blowers on. The sky has cleared enough where it's worth attempting science, even though there're still thin intermittent clouds. 08:35Z - Enclosure off. Cartridge 2, plate 2564, seguefaint149.
