We will try again tomorrow. We completed MSP linearity calibrations for r1, i1, z1 and QE calibrations for g1. To help keep track of which tests have been completed with each chip, a diagram of the imager has been drawn on the whiteboard. Chips with blue dots represent completed linearity tests and chips with purple dots represent completed QE tests. Shakedown tasks completed thus far: Spectro monthly checkout Home/relax mirrors Fiducial tables v1_73 installed ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- Dan and Diana continued to work on zenith altitude pin and yielded new altitude fiducial table. The latest fiducial tables were checked, the altitude table was replaiced by today's whereas azimuth and rotator's tables left from the previous version. Fiducial crossings were checked, too large correction of the order of 16800 was applied to ALT, but in this case the altitude pin didn't want to fit at 90 degrees. It turned out that correction for Dan's alt table was applied with opposite sign, so Steph recalculated the corrections updated again the fiducial table in ALT. Now fiducial crossings look nice and pin easily goes in at 90 deg. New version of tables is v1_73. Cartridge 3 is on the telescope. Spectro monthly checkout has been performed. Spectro collimation has been done. Spectrographs set at +4C. 00:02Z - Started ventilating. Mirrors homed/relaxed. Mirror numbers taken. They were way off the normal since the MIG battery was changed recently. A 'saveNominalMigValuesForLog' command was issued in iop to fix this. Engineering camera is put on. Problem with connection to the camera emerged. Connectors checked, controller on telescope was power cycled. Since we started ventilating at 00:00Z, ~12,500 dust hours accumulated on the mirror. 05:00Z - The sky cleared, but there were still high winds out of the east, and the dust was high. 05:35Z - Started an imager bias for MSP cals on r1 - Run #7387. It said that the bias frame was frame 0, but maybe it meant frame 1. However, we were not able to find it in the /home/observer/calibdata/. We dont know what happened to it?? 05:39Z - Began linearity measurements for r1. We wanted to start the tests that required the shortest amount of time, just in case the weather suddenly allowed us to open and get a pointing model. Run 7383, frames 2-20. Completed without any errors. 06:56Z - Switched to i1 to perform a linearity test. Run #7383, frame 21-40. Completed successfully. 07:20Z - High humidity. 08:12Z - Switched to z1 linearity. Run #7383, frame 41-60. Completely successfully. 09:34Z - Since there is no hope of opening, we decided to do the longer test (QE) on z1. Right after we started taking measurements with frame 61, we noticed that we had to change the slit width to 1.0mm instead of 0.5mm. We control-c'ed out of the run and decided that it would be easier to change to a different color than change the slit-width. 09:44Z - Changed stage to g1.
