APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Tuesday October 7, 2008 (MJD 54747) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Audrey Simmons Viktor Malanushenko ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- After sunset we observed twilight spectra (using cart.1 plate 3129). -- We observed plates 3129, 3144, 3110 and have obtained useful S/N. -- We kindly ask Conny to recalculate S/N for the plate 3129: The seeing was good, approx. 1.2". Nevertheless that S/N for b1 was less or equal 2, we believed, that the real S/N for it will more than 2.0. -- Completed the part of stripe 80 S from lambda 167 to -138 including ramps. Seeing averaged 1.3" - 1.4" Problems: at 11:08Z we had watcher's messages This problem with the murmur log being hung by processes is definitely a reaccurance. We had this problem in the middle of an imaging run and waited until after to reboot the crates and the murmur. DIMM's problem: at 08:00Z the DIMM has stopped measurements. Skippy happy from the beginning. 07:57Z - Start ramp lambda 167, frame 17. 08:05Z - Start science lambda 169, frame 29. 011:28Z - end science, lambda=-140, frame 370 011:36Z - end ramp, lambda = -138, frame 383. After frame 335 , approx. at 11:08Z we got warning messages from the watcher, msp misc. (in to 'problem' section). As a result of inspection we found messages "Got unexpected retval 0 on msg body read of 240 bytes"in to Murmur log. We waited until after we ended the drift before rebooting the murmur. First a cleanupMurmur was issued, and then a stop_mursrvr start_mursrvr with no luck.
