We started Kyle's sparse plugged test but had to modify it (make spectrograph ring move as -30, -15, 0, 15, 30 rather than 25 deg step) because pistons were hitting the limit switch. Nevertheless, even with this test configuration we hit piston limits at sp1 positive direction. Test was finished, results are in the log. LN2 spectro dewar was left at 79 lbs in the evening. Note that normal night with one opening one closing takes at least 2 fills (80-90 lbs). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon --------- Afternoon checkout went smooth. One red alert stays in the STUI log: "boss SP2ExexBoot Reported by camCheck". We don't have any description of alerts, and can guess only. Called Connie, and she confirmed that she rebooted sp2 and did iack ater that, and we can acknowledge this error message. Night ----- 02:20Z Delayed with opening and starting ventilation because of rain. Also, dense clouds are above us and radar returns around. We started Kyle's sparse plugged plate test. First, we triued -25 deg ring rotation. It works fine. Once we tried to move rings to -50 deg from its best positiojn, sp2 ran into the end of pistons move. Called Kyle. Kyle agreed that we can go -30, -15, 0, 15, 30 , not 50-25-0. Also, bumping the limit switch created tilt to the piston poition on sp2. Took time to return everything back and to start the text over. Spectra taken to frame 117168 only can be used to study shifts between 0 and -25 degrees of the ring angle. There is a danger that bumpibng the limit switch rejected the pistons to certain new position, and this does not correspond to the old one, i.e. even if we go back to zero angles in blue rings, some tilt may now exist on sp2 pistons. We currently cannot mopunt a non-sparse plugged BOSS cartridge because pavement is still wet. Tomorrow we'll check it with sos3 reduction. 07:05Z we hit another limit, at sp1 even with +30 deg, 3200 piston steps less than needed.
