Explanation

We see the subsurface flow of water over time. It forms wormholes that are are of specific interest to the domain scientist.

We can detect the wormholes using the analogy to ridgelines in 3D

Depending on different statistics, we can filter out unimportant lines. The parameters are:

curvature: how steep the mountain bends down to the left and right of the ridge.

length: how long the ridge is

volume: the amount of dirt that belongs to the mountain ridge

arcchord: how straight the line is
