3DCVAout_ruc.nc is the files containing all derived variables from the 3D contrained variational analysis (3DCVA) [Tang and Zhang 2015]. it covers 5 degree X 4.5 degree domain around SGP with a horizontal resolution of 0.5 degree, with 3 hour time resolution.

To generate large-scale forcing data for SCM/CRM/LES, use the code ./MATLAB/generate_forcing_3DCVA.m. You may need to make change on the settings part of the code, especially lat/lon or x/y grids to specify the domain you want to do the average. 

forcing_ruc_10by9_onefile.nc is the domain-averaged forcing generated by the code in setting the largest averaging domain.
