The dark current on b1 and r1 both read high (98th percentile is 25 electrons from 900 second exposures). During slews in the enclosure in altitude, a 'clank' noise was heard from alt drive #2 (N side). PR3036 opened and French informed. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- French handed over the telescope about 19:30 UT. I followed standard procedures under SOP Monhly Checklist. This is my first attempt at this check-out, so forgive the log if this is over-detailed for the cognoscenti. During slews in altitude, a 'clank' was heard from alt drive #2 every 10 degrees or so, although the slews appeared smooth. PR3036 was opened and French was informed. XMAX for r1 is yellow. All other numbers are black. Compared to the nominal values in the procedure, the XMIN values are 1-2 pixels low, the XMAX values are 1 pixel low to 3 pixels high. No values changed. No further changes to positions. I took another flat and arc which showed movement of < 1 pixel in X and lambda. New collimator mirror positions: sp1: Coll_motor_A -4163 Coll_motor_B -4163 Coll_motor_C -4164 sp2: Coll_motor_A -1401 Coll_motor_B -1400 Coll_motor_C -1401 I then obtained the dithered spectro flats using specFlats. This left the collimator motors within 1 count of the focussed positions. I then took 25 bias frames and checked one set in detail. No problems seen. All percentiles reported by SoS in black (98th percentile values <= 11 electrons in all frames). SoS reported high dark values (24-25 electrons) for b1 and r1, but normal values (13-16 e-) for b2 and r2. The histograms were plotted and looked consistent, showing b1 and r1 elevated around log(ADU) ~= 1.1--1.5.
