APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Monday May 10, 2004 (MJD 53136) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Swing: Mike Harvanek Night: Howard Brewington Pete Newman ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science. ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Did not open. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift: ------------ sos.apo.nmsu.edu hung and needed rebooting this afternoon, and seemed to have a corrupted logfile-53136.html. In the end, we issued sos_stop, removed all the MJD directories for today (53136) by hand and rebooted again, then sos_start and all was well. Spectro collimation was adjusted. Details are in the problems section. Night shift: ------------ Thunderstorms from the afternoon continued with occasional rain and bands of heavy (and unpredictable) cloud, plus high dust at times, until we gave up at 10:21Z. Terminal monx1 complained it was out of memory and Pete's session died during the night, but we recovered without losing the log except for weather entries between 01:26Z and ~04:35Z. endNight ran onto the cloudy-night tapes. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4620 00:04Z 00:19Z 100 O -60.67 -56.76 40 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): n QA Procedures Done (y/n): n UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 26593, plate -9999 ------- 00:00 26593 0.0 bias ----- sequence 26594, plate 1726 ------- 00:08 26594 10.0 flat collimation 00:10 26595 2.0 arc collimation 00:13 26596 2.1 arc collimation 00:16 26597 2.1 arc collimation 01:19 26598 2.1 arc collimation 01:21 26599 2.1 arc collimation ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- No tapes to ship or store. ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 23:51Z 55 31 1 81 (E) 998 - 00:23Z 52 36 13 300 (WNW) 9833 - 00:55Z 49 37 5 349 (NNW) 3205 - 01:26Z 49 36 9 328 (NNW) 1635 - Gap when terminal was dead - see log 04:48Z 52 32 12 189 (S) 961 - 05:19Z 51 34 14 185 (S) 719 - 05:52Z 49 36 17 197 (SSW) 926 - 06:25Z 49 36 14 193 (SSW) 1014 - 06:56Z 49 36 16 192 (SSW) 1022 - 07:29Z 49 36 15 206 (SSW) 1308 - 08:01Z 49 35 12 229 (SW) 1721 - 08:33Z 49 35 11 223 (SW) 3843 - 09:05Z 50 34 9 257 (WSW) 3828 - 09:38Z 48 36 13 200 (SSW) 4215 - 10:10Z 48 35 11 214 (SW) 3249 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Enclosure on all night.
