But seeing was really bad (3.5") since frame 161, lambda 149. This portion of the data may not be usufull. 2) 82 s from lambda -143.5 to -123 (including ramps). 3) Portion of the monthly spectro check-out: 25 bias exposure. 4) got one exposure on plate 2432 to exercise spectrographs and guider. 5) IOP test from Eric failed. MTP and watcher tests passed. Problem: 1) LogTool: we ran the test version of IOP, along with setup watcher Fawkes, All sections, such as Focus, offset, skippy, and LtMatch do not have headers. Also, Shannon could not get mirror numbers by clicking on mirrors of logTool GUI. Headers were put in by hand. Also the information for software used was not there, put in by hand. We talked to Eric Neilsen, we concluded that this is not due to IOP itself. Something might happened when Shannon started his logTool in afternoon. 2) We had rotator abort twice (see log) 3) Elena's SOP session hang during telescope slewing (see log). about 35 mintues was lost to the problem. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- T=5.9C, Wind gusts ~14 mph. All systems checked and working. Spectro focus has been checked and is good for 2C. Plate 2432 was used for the spectro checkout. Night: ------ we accidently call doghouse bias run 6540 bias instead of ignore. 00:05Z mounted imager. 00:23Z run 6541. On-telescope bias. 01:15Z run 6542. 82, S. Started goDrift at lambda 111. 01:25Z started ramp at lambda 113, frame 19. 01:33Z started science at frame 33 and lambda 115. In focus at about frame 20. Seeing was about 2.0". 02:47Z, we had a rotator abortion with any warning from TPM (the rotator driver current was not high). rotator (ABORT_EVENT: 2006-11-11 02:47:49Z). AxisStat:rot (out_closed_loop amp_bad: 2006-11-11 01:28:53Z) But since skippy was still happy so we kept the scan running. 05:38Z endDrift at frame 444 lambda 176.7 after consulating Rick Kessler due to bad seeing (3.5"). Seeing went really bad (3.5") since frame 260. 06:20Z started bias loop with cartridge (plate 2432 with plate 6666 on top of it. 25 bias frames were obtained. We had rotator abort again. So endDrift, and call this run igonre. 08:02Z run 6544, 82 S. 08:05Z started goDrift at lambda -160.5. Because seeing was about 2.5". So we decided to endDrift and go to high altitude. 08:15Z run 6545, 82 S. Started goDrift at lambda -145. Focus and pointing were good from the beginning. Started ramp at frame 15, lambda -143.5. started science at frame 28, lambda -141.5. Seeing was better, but not great, at about 2.2". ended science at frame 140, lambda -125. ramp ended at frame 153, lambda -123. 10:05Z switch back to spectro, cart 4, plt 2432, seque. Stars on GTF. During slewing, Elena's SOP session hang, and never came back. In the Murmur log we had message of: CAMERA sp1: FAILURE on ftelnet t-g-sdss-2.apo.nmsu.edu 2100: connection error in ftelnet: connection refused 2006-11-11 10:36:06Z sdsshost2 IOP 18743 TEXTONLY CAMERA sp2: FAILURE on ftelnet t-g-sdss-2.apo.nmsu.edu 2200: connection error in ftelnet: connection refused 2006-11-11 10:36:10Z sdsshost2 IOP 18743 TEXTONLY CAMERA sp1: FAILURE on ftelnet t-g-sdss-2.apo.nmsu.edu 2100: connection error in ftelnet: connection refused. Then Kaike tried to take over the observation, so asked Elena to open another SOP session and tried to drop the instrument from there. But unfortunately, that did not work out. Kaike still cloud not grab the instrument. Then Kaike logout all port associated with sp1 and sp2. That did not worked eigher. Then, steph was called and consulated what to do next. We decided that next step would be kill the session. Just at the moment, Elena found the process and killed it. Then, Kaike was able to grabe the instrument, and started observation. 35 mintues was lost to the problem. We acquired one 900s exposure on thus plate, but sky level is red. The data is not useful. But this did confirmed the aliveness of the spectrtograph and the guider. We still have multiple copies of opBC*.par files.
