Frames are stored in /home/snedden/idRR-007944* if you want to have a look. We toggled the T-bars to unlatched,took another bias and the noise stopped. A third bias with the T-bars latched again showed noise in u3 starting in frames 16, 17 on run 7946. We won't be imaging tonight, so we suspended tests due to lack of time. Cleaned moth goo off the N altitude drive surface. Mounted cart 6. No change was made to spectro focus, but if it gets a lot colder, a change may be needed. So, we moved on to cart 08; unfortunately, cart 08 was not available for about an hour. We lost about one-hour and forty-minutes of science time to this problem. *Note: We looked at the plugMap file for this plate and discovered that fiber #98 was pointing to star HD-70627, which is about 7-mag although the file detailed this object's mag as 0. Nevertheless, we need to have this fiber unplugged. 05:54Z Cart 08, plate 3222 (Dec08a_SEGUE2). An FK5 was used to find the field. Seeing was about 1.0" as reported by the DIMM. The cart was lowered, and we tried again. This time, it did not snag; however, there was a mechanical-rattle noise that came from sp2 as the slit-head went into the slit-head opening. This was the same noise reported in last night's log. After getting the cart into position, we could not get the cart to latch. We tried remounting cart 05 as a test, yet it would not latch either. So, we went back to cart 04, and again the slit-head for sp2 snagged as it went into the opening. The next try was successful, but we heard the rattle noise again from sp2. We finally got the latches to work by extending the slit-head latches first and playing with the cart-latch button. We left cart 04 mounted on the telescope.
