APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Wednesday April 8, 2009 (MJD 54930) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Steph Snedden Dan Oravetz Nathan De Lee (MARVELS) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- MARVELS Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- The night was lost to high winds and some clouds. We had issues with our weather pages hanging intermittently and eventually zaphod was unavailable altogether. A reboot got things up and running again except for the dust counts. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon --------- Restarted the servers. Night ----- 05:45Z - Optimistically began ventilating. The weather pages and the irsc were hanging and eventually became unreachable, so we rebooted zaphod and things were happier the rest of the night. 08:30Z - Stopped ventilating because winds were still high, but the dust counters on the Weather Status page were not providing information, so we played it conservatively. Talked with Nathan about some MARVELS issues, e.g. his development of a webpage that will aid in future scheduling. The shakedown plan was constructed. 11:15Z - Winds were still nearly 50 mph, so we called it a night. 11:16Z - endNight rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): y QA Procedures Done (y/n): y UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 23:16 60355 0.0 bias 23:55 60356 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 23:48Z 51 23 33 256 (WSW) 1788 - clouds 00:19Z 51 23 30 256 (WSW) 2063 - clouds 00:52Z 51 22 38 249 (WSW) 2775 - clouds 01:24Z 50 21 24 254 (WSW) 2888 - clouds 01:56Z 49 20 28 253 (WSW) 2568 - clouds 02:28Z 49 20 26 261 (W) 2214 - clouds 03:00Z 48 20 21 261 (W) 1976 - clouds 03:34Z 48 20 25 263 (W) 2414 - clouds 04:06Z 47 20 22 253 (WSW) 1988 - clouds 04:37Z 46 20 25 260 (W) 1521 - clouds 05:07Z 45 20 31 247 (WSW) 1332 - clouds 05:37Z 44 20 26 261 (W) 1268 - clouds 06:09Z 43 9 26 267 (W) 1804 - clouds 06:42Z 41 5 26 264 (W) 1155 - clouds 07:18Z 39 6 23 256 (WSW) 1190 - clouds 07:51Z 38 8 25 246 (WSW) -9999 - mostly clear 08:22Z 37 10 28 260 (W) -9999 - mostly clear 08:54Z 35 10 30 257 (WSW) -9999 - mostly clear 09:27Z 34 12 37 264 (W) -9999 - mostly clear 09:59Z 32 13 29 262 (W) -9999 - mostly clear 10:31Z 31 15 40 283 (WNW) -9999 - mostly clear 11:03Z 30 13 46 283 (WNW) -9999 - mostly clear ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 05:45Z - Began ventilation.
