This afternoon during the checkout, the secondary once again complained about the E axis not stopping on a full step. Unlike the last two nights, I was able to change the focus, tracking the same position the telescope was last slewed to. Only when the altitude axis position was changed did the error crop up, and it happened immediately upon moving. Like previous nights, homing the E axis restored proper operation. The position error was 49 counts from the homing status info. We opened around sunset to partly cloudy skies. We had enough time to find a star and focus the engineering camera and start a sparse model to check the pointing accuracy of the new model. Unfortunately even before the first point could be taken, clouds thickened and forced us to close. It was about 21:15. Clouds remained thick and low enough to be threatening the rest of the night. We even got a little light rain after 02:00. Pete and Jurek got a little practice with the PT in the first part of the night. Clouds eventually shut the PT down as well. We tested calcStripeParams new time feature. Eric has already done extensive testing at Fermilab, but it was nice to see it work here. Some time was spent looking over PRs.
