APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Friday November 14, 2008 (MJD 54785) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Audrey Simmons Dmitry Bizyaev Steph Snedden (Swing) Nathan DeLee (UF) Jiang Peng (UF) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science with Marvels. ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Opened late because of high humidity in the evening. Cirrus clouds all night long. We exposed Marvels survey plates 3076 (c.9), 3075 (c. 8), 3077 (c. 3), 3079 (c. 6). We got an alert of empty specrto dewars in the morning right a few minutes before we hooked up LN2 system. CCD temp didn't go up, LN2 temp went up a little, we did stop/start fill seq. We closed because of high humidity. If, otherwise, we would stay opened and do the Marvels morning twilight test, or continue to work up to 6 deg twilight, we would stop any way and fill the spectro dewars. We leave spectro LN2 main dewar at 59 lbs, last fill was in the morning. Please keep an eye on it. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing: ------ No problems during checkout. Set the spectrographs to a warmer beginning of night focus since the only MARVELS pre-selection plate is at the beginning. Details after the problems section.
