Four solid hours of imaging on 13 N, 3015: 13 N -63 to 0 science range Four plates done. 7 579, 5 874, 2 850, 4 788. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Setup on 13N during twilight. Skippy showed large nu error ( 16" ). It was decided to correct it rather than risk having it go over the absolute limit. This resulted in a start of science a little shy of two degrees ahead as lambda was -62.6 when the tweak was over. gang transfers stopped at 20:03 MST ( the time stamp in the murmur log ) Three attempts at restarting the teamster failed. The first time when restarting the teamster was already dead. The next two times the teamster was still running when it was restarted. After the first restart of the teamster we began seeing Waiting for command response ad3 ( around 20:26 ). See problem section for "i" output from Dsclat to ad3. We forged ahead gangless since the pointing started out so well, the stripe doesn't require much telescope motion, the focus loop gets its info directly from astroline, and the seeing is good, the sky is dark, and the moon comes up only 20 minutes after this run reaches its end lambda. We will try a ptvmeReset after the run passes the end lambda to see what if any effect doing a ptvmeReset during a scan has. If there is no negative effect we will know that we can reset the link during a scan if we have to in order to get gang transfers started again. At 23:39 gang transfers started again without us doing anything!!--??????? For the rest of the drift the transfers continued. It kept transferring gangs for this run for about 2 hours after it finished. We decided against messing with the ptvme link. Donuts: -300 frame 496, 0 frame 491, +300 frame 503. These are in /data/photo/optics/52338. While the donuts seemed evenly illuminated, they were a bit squashed, especially toward dewar 1. The mirror numbers didn't show anything out of spec. Run 3015 Good data from frame 57 through frame 477( lambda -62.5 to 0 ). Tweaking and/or donuts before and after. Seeing run indicates good seeing throughout with a small patch of acceptable between frames 110 and 130 ( lambda -55 to -52 ). switched to spectroscopy around 00:10. Cart 7 Plate 579: Stars in guide fibers from slew. Done in three exposures. Smear took 11 minutes from start to finish. Not sure what it did with the 7 minutes when it wasn't integrating. Cart 5 Plate 874: No stars on slew. FK5 required. Done in three exposures. Again, smear took longer than it should to finish. 9 minutes this time. Cart 2 Plate 850: Stars on slew. Done in three exposures. Sluggish smear again. Cart 4 Plate 788: Stars on slew. Only needed one more exposure to finish the plate. IOP v3_71_1 declared current at the end of the night.
