APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Thursday February 20, 2003 (MJD 52691) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- (swing) Jurek Krzesinski night Mike Harvanek night Dan Long Howard Brewington ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Finish non-sky shake items. Shovel snow. ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Finished non-sky shake items. Shoveled snow. Clouds, snow, and high humidity kept us closed all night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon checkout went ok. Spectrograph focus checked (and it's in focus). iop dependency and mcpMenu: There appears to be an odd dependency problem with iop v3_109_2 compared to v3_109_1. When mcpMenu is run under v3_109_2, the PLC version is ???. Under v3_109_1 is shows properly that PLC is v14. The curious thing is that a ups depend of each of the iops is identical and shows the plc version to be v14. Since the mcp knows what version of the plc is running, and apparently so does iop, is the mcpMenu not displaying the plc version simply a cosmetic problem or is there a more significant issue behind it? Something else ups depend shows is that both versions depend on v2_24_0 of the tpm when the latest is v2_26_0. Shouldn't iop with the new plc code depend on the latest version of the tpm? The changelog on sdssProcedures was checked and verified. We went through the spectroQA procedure including the new commands using existing data. It all worked as advertised. Hopefully it goes a little more quickly as we get more familiar with the process. We spent a couple of hours shoveling 3 or 4 inches of wet snow off of the sidewalks around the site, and cartridge bay area. As both Mike and I will be on again tomorrow we will wait to send out the shake summary in hopes of being able to include on-sky checks and hence declare most test software current in the summary. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3680 23:09Z 23:29Z 100 O -153.09 -148.00 48 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n):y for what it's worth QA Procedures Done (y/n):tried them out on old data UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 19333, plate -9999 ------- 23:05Z 19333 0.0 bias {{}} ----- sequence 19334, plate 1210 ------- 23:18Z 19334 0.0 bias {{}} 23:23Z 19335 10.0 flat test 23:29Z 19336 10.0 flat test 23:32Z 19337 2.0 arc test 23:42Z 19338 2.1 arc {{focus, hartmann l}} 23:44Z 19339 2.1 arc {{focus, hartmann r}} ----- sequence 19340, plate -9999 ------- 00:20Z 19340 0.0 bias {{}} ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JLCloudy1 Stays: JLCloudy2 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:12Z 31 29 6 126 (SE) 293 - Snow Flurries 00:29Z 32 26 0 163 (SSE) 298 - Cloudy 00:45Z 31 29 2 91 (E) 274 - Cloudy 01:17Z 31 29 3 121 (ESE) 187 - Cloudy 01:49Z 31 30 0 204 (SSW) 117 - Snow Flurries 02:22Z 29 28 6 90 (E) 30 - Light Snow 02:54Z 28 27 2 130 (SE) 12 - Light Snow 03:26Z 28 27 5 103 (ESE) 12 - Snow 03:58Z 27 26 5 139 (SE) 15 - Light Snow 04:30Z 27 27 0 205 (SSW) 92 - Light Snow 05:03Z 26 24 5 88 (E) 9 - Snow 05:35Z 26 25 0 164 (SSE) 144 - Snow 06:07Z 26 26 0 206 (SSW) 2 - Light Snow 06:39Z 26 26 1 86 (E) 12 - Light Snow 07:11Z 27 25 4 106 (ESE) 36 - Flurries 07:43Z 28 26 11 135 (SE) 14 - Flurries 08:16Z 28 26 5 172 (S) 5 - Flurries 08:48Z 26 26 0 299 (WNW) 1511 - Fog 09:20Z 26 26 0 210 (SSW) 7 - Fog 09:50Z 26 26 2 286 (WNW) 2360 - Flurries 10:21Z 26 26 0 217 (SW) 483 - Flurries ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Enclosure never opened Stowed at 30 deg alt, cartridge 3 installed.
