APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Saturday September 20, 2003 (MJD 52903) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Dan Long Jurek Krzesinski Mike Harvanek (swing) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- The first half of the night was lost to clouds and area storms. The second half was clear or mostly clear. We finished three plates (6 1475, 1 1090, 5 1132) and got an exposure on a fourth (7 1475) before having to close due to high humidity about half an hour before twilight. The questions on last night's exposures on plate 1256 were answered (thanks David), so it was also declared done. The imager had a secondary fill problem tonight. The fill continued past full, taking 75 LB of LN2 before it was noticed and the solenoid was tapped on to stop the fill. There was quite a bit of frost in front of the doghouse where LN2 had spilled out from under the door. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- The spectro collimation was tweaked again: T=13.8 sp1 final positions Coll_motor_A -5379 Coll_motor_B -5579 Coll_motor_C -4679 sp2 final positions Coll_motor_A -3647 Coll_motor_B -3867 Coll_motor_C -3754 Everything went ok during afternoon checkout.
