Weird (but relatively minor) spectrograph problems at the start of the night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Telescope ok., DAs -ok., imager ok., spectrographs in spec, guider ok., MIGs - M1 E,F axes were out of spec and had to be homed (third time this dark run!). No problems to report. Night: ------ The initial spectro bias failed with a DQ busy error (See Problems). We logged out the ports and rebooted the crates and all was well, once we took advantage of goStare's offer to correct the exposure numbers. Once that was done, we started with cart 3 plate 1687 (standard survey). During preCalibs, the exposures failed again. We fixed it with a grabInst -drop and a re-grab. Errors in Problems. Once started, GSOTGTF. Once immediate clouds were gone, the DIMM was easy to setup- with Polaris still in its vision. This plate not finished in 4 exposures. 04:41Z: Next up cart 2 plate 1909 (SEGUE faint). GSOTGTF once we remembered to do the proper loadCart. None of last night's problems re-surfaced while getting guiding going this time. By 05:25Z, clouds came in and rendered science exposures useless. 07:26Z still in thick clouds, but we switched to cart 9 plate 1895 and GSOTGTF. But clouds still too thick for good exposures. 08:25Z Clouds moved in again, but we just got one good exposure a few minutes ago! Yup- second exposure worthless. 10:15Z One good exposure just finished.
