No problems tonight. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- No DA problems this afternoon, probably because Jon Brinkmann rebooted the crates earlier in the day. It would be nice to have a proper dust cover for the engineering camera. After 5 years we are still using scotch tape and kim wipes. Spectro collimation was checked but not adjusted. Details are in the Problems section. No problems to report. Night: ------ The spectro dewars took 53 lbs to fill after opening. No leaks or other problems were noticed but this amount seemed abnormally large. 02:30Z Cart 1 plt 2056, Fk5 used to find the guide stars. Lousy seeing and clouds makes our efficiency miserable. Two good exposures done on that plate before it expired. 05:02Z Cart 5 plt 2098 on the telescope, GSOGTF. 05:56Z We got into zenith avoidance zone and the guider cannot catch up - we are waiting for it to get into more comfortable zone :>. 06:10 Back in the safe zone. Exposure started. Plate done. 06:40Z Cart 4 plt 2092 mounted. Stars on GTF. The precalib arc exposure 31593 showed in red Nlamps (r2). We declared that exposure bad after taking 3 good science exposures, then we took postcals (arc was fine). Plate done. 08:19Z Cart 7 plt 1672. Stars found with the magic offset in alt (Dan did it).
