Both seeing and photometricity were marginal for the last few hours of the night, so we opted to continue the supernova scan after moonset. DIMM setup and worked fine tonight. Not sure what happened last night. spooling script didn't like the lack of logs, but with the -NOLOG flag, it seemed to work, though the monitor command didn't give as much information as usual. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon checkout: ------------------- There were not problems today. Telescope & instruments are ready. Night: ------ Run 5606 Bias on telescope in darkened enclosure. Run 5607 82 S lambda 114 to -125 excluding ramps skippy happy from the start, no correction needed from cleared offsets. In focus from frame 15 03:00Z Cloud camera: For about half an hour a thin horizontal streak about 1/3 of the way down from the top (N) of the image would come and go. It definitely was not cloud related and unless it was a very fast and very bored bug, I don't think we can blame the little critters either. Could it be something to do with the chopper wheel - don't know if that geometry of streak would make any sense for that? M2, an 82 S highlight, looking lovely as ever (frame 194 CCD 52). 08:40Z Median seeing stayed over 1.6 between about frame 600 and 630 causing seeingRun to switch from good to acceptable, only to change its mind about 15 minutes later, after seeing improved for a while. For about the last hour the cloud camera has been showing marginally non-photometric conditions with std dev sometimes going over 7. 08:46Z frame 650 moonset Structure in cloud camera continues to send standard deviation over 7. 10:40Z Frame 835 Lambda -125 (start of ramp) 10:48Z Frame 841 end of run lambda -122.5 endNight rejoiced SN spooling scripts started. It said it could process 444 frames. Rick called in earlier in the evening to say the script had been modified to handle the files being on sdsshost2. A NOLOG flag was added to allow the script to continue without the log files it normally uses to set itself up.
