Seeing was better than expected. Plates finished: 2409, 2644 Signal obtained on plate 2145 Strips imaged: 10, S from lambda -20 to -3 (Finished) 205, N from mu 220 to 248 (Finished) Cross-scan (Finished) Dan, we had some auto-instrument lift cuteness when mounting the imager - see the log body. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- Nothing unusual to report. Spectro focus was not adjusted. Night: ----- Howard adjusted the focus on the DIMM, which had drifted a bit with the warmer springtime temperatures. 02:12Z - Cartridge 1, plate 2409 - seguefaint Found an FK5 in the fiber during twilight. This plate had previous accumulated (S/N)^2 of 40. We were able to declare it done with two more exposures of 3000 s. 03:59Z - Cartridge 8, plate 2644 - Legacy chunk 109 GSOGTF. Spectrograph 2's precals were out of focus, but sp1's were basically unchanged. There was very little change in temperature between the previous postcal and this precal, so it was not temperature. Whatever caused the problem, it was mostly on sp2. A changeof +3000 to sp2's collimator actuators brought it back in spec. Declared this plate done with a total exposure time of 1800 s, when previous signal was added in. Seeing was better than expected, so we switched to imaging after moonset. We had a problem with the interlocks on the auto side of the lift. The lift did not want to raise with the imager mounted. A quick glance at the interlocks possibly indicated it thought the cart pin was not in (it was), but we did not tarry to investigate, since we had good imaging conditions. The scan ran for 45 minutes after frame 14.
