We took a bunch of BOSS hartmann calibrations with varying collimator motor positions. We adjusted the blue and red spectrograph camera rings so that the collimators are now in focus and are not close to limits. (See all IDL collimate results within problem section. Per Kyle's request, we also took a bunch of arcs and flats with varying exposure times. We ran into an error when running the 'sop doCailb' command with sequences of flat exposures. One exposure would readout normally, but would fail to begin the next one. See log for the messages sent through STUI. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- No problems during checkout. However, after the second step, we hit the limit around zero ticks. So, we decided since sp1 is in focus near the upper limit (~17k) and sp2 is actually hitting the lower limit, we should adjust the gold rings on the spectrographs and try running collimate again. 05:10Z - Moved the gold rings on both spectrographs the following amounts: sp1: red by 50 degrees, blue by 50 degrees sp2: red by -50 degrees, blue by -50 degrees 05:16Z - Hartmann exposures 101497-99 (") (NOTE: ignore 101496) We concluded from the results from collimate that we moved the gold rings on the spectrographs the wrong way. From this point on, the IDL results should be correct. The blue camera values needed to have their signs flipped. Everything is in focus for a temperature of ~ 08:33Z - Began taking sequences of arcs and flats of varying exposure times. 4 flats + 4 arcs with expTime=1 101518-25 3 flats expTime=2 101526-28 The second time the command 'sop doCalib nflat=4 narc=4 flat=2 arctime=2' was issued, the process went through and readout 3 flats, but failed on the 4th flat. The process stopped afterwards and did not finish with the arcs. However, runnning the command only with arcs works. It seems like something is hung up with the flats and will not complete any sequences, but individual exposures are ok.
