APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Saturday November 14, 2009 (MJD 55150) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Audrey Simmons Dan Oravetz Steph Snedden (afternoon) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- BOSS Science ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- The night was lost to poor weather: clouds and humidity. We took the flexure data for cart. 11. We took the first half of the flexure test data for cart. 14...again. After we began Audrey checked through the night logs and found that the flexure data for cart. 14 was taken on 55148. The information on cloudy night tasks doesn't appear to have been updated on the Wiki for a few days regarding the flexure tests. PLEASE UPDATE THE INFORMATION IN THE NOVEMBER OBSERVING STRATEGY ON THE WIKI SO THAT WE DO NOT DUPLICATE TESTS! If the preference is for us (observers) to update the Wiki as we go, then please explicitly let us know, otherwise they need to be updated regularly. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- Amazingly, no one was logged into STUI when I came in. I'm glad that the developers are able to get a little time off. The spectrograph chiller pressure gauge is still reading near zero. No other problems noted at the enclosure. FLEXURE TEST ==================== We did the first half of the flexure test for cart. 14 after we remembered seeing mention of it already being done in one of the recent night logs. Sure enough, this was done on 55148. The exposures that we took include 103645-68. ==================== END OF CART. 14 FLEXURE TEST ==================== 11:06Z - Humidity still in the upper 90s (98% now). We called it. 11:07Z - endNight rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8147 22:43Z 22:58Z 100 O 104.15 107.75 38 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): QA Procedures Done (y/n): UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 20:46Z 40 33 21 265 (W) 1044 - 21:18Z 39 32 20 256 (WSW) 971 - 21:50Z 35 35 16 254 (WSW) 18231 - 22:21Z 35 35 20 258 (WSW) 16148 - 22:53Z 34 34 25 249 (WSW) 792 - 23:26Z 35 33 26 241 (WSW) 1029 - 23:58Z 35 33 19 246 (WSW) 1184 - 00:30Z 35 31 20 262 (W) 1189 - 01:02Z 34 29 23 265 (W) 1208 - 01:34Z 34 29 25 275 (W) 1136 - 02:06Z 34 27 19 260 (W) 1190 - 02:38Z 34 28 23 270 (W) 1054 - 03:11Z 34 28 21 266 (W) 1163 - 03:43Z 34 29 18 269 (W) 1163 - 04:15Z 33 29 19 261 (W) 1299 - 04:47Z 33 29 22 261 (W) 1235 - 05:19Z 32 30 21 275 (W) 998 - 05:51Z 32 29 16 264 (W) 986 - 06:23Z 31 29 15 265 (W) 1061 - 06:56Z 31 29 14 266 (W) 1156 - 07:28Z 31 28 22 281 (W) 1135 - 08:00Z 30 28 10 267 (W) 1106 - 08:32Z 29 28 16 238 (WSW) 1121 - 09:04Z 29 28 19 241 (WSW) 1185 - 09:36Z 28 27 18 246 (WSW) 1110 - 10:08Z 28 27 9 229 (SW) 1151 - 10:41Z 27 27 15 254 (WSW) 1262 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Weather prevented opening and ventilation.
