We tested EngCam, obtained its accurate engineering block using grid offset test and rotator test, obtained other parameters as directions, scales, offsets. Gprob for axis and opff axis were obtained. We tested short pointing model procedure and it worked properly, ready to use. We were working with optical collimation. We made improvements but we still need to continue. We changed tilts but did not apply for other numbers and did not chech off axis. AZ fiducials were reading. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon ---------- Checked software and telescope. Re-connect MCP actor. Mirror numbers for secondary were not the same as last night. We made home of secondary and got the same numbers as several days ago after previous homing. So, we need to set different values. Started ventilation at 01:10Z Night ------- Opened art 02:10Z EngCamera was mounted. We need to check it. We need to track some bright star around az=90, alt=60, rot=0. To find nearby FK5 we need to track using different coordinate system. Converted these coordinates to ICRS: tcc convert 90,60 observed icrs Used track command: track 298,27 icrs /rot=0 /rotty=mount Track nearby FK5 star: tcc track/pterr=(noobj,nocorr) Fk5 star was found on GTF Relative foc was 0 and the star were very much out of focus. Adjusted focus ~ 4700. To get ecam exposure we used tcc commands: tcc gcam doread - to read image tcc gcam dofindstar - to read image and identify parameters of brightest star. This command is gping to be used for pointing model. The commands worked properly but even woth 0.5sec exposure there was saturation. inst-foc correction has been made in insrument block. Craig created different set of FK5 stars with faint stars. To reload a new catalog, he rebooted tcc. Started over. Found another FK5 star. Star was out of foccus, foc was ~ 2100. Craig try to test the procedure of the getting of pointing model. We started with 20-points pointing model GRID_5_4_25_80_T_30.DAT;1 Sometime about 10th exposure we lost the stars. Cleared offsets and started again with the same grid file. Started new pointing exposures with file gimg-0038.fits We found out that az fducials were reading properly after we forced them to read. We lost the stars again and quit the pointing model. We need to set parameters of EngCam instrument block first. Tracked to another nearby FK5 star again. 04:50:52 APO.doravetz: tcc track/pterr=(noobj,nocorr) 05:31:41 - ecamera offset Test 06:59:18 - ecamera Rotator Test The parameters of EngBlock for ecamera was calulated with Russet help using 3.5m sofware. Asw a result we got accurate instrument block for EngCam. We run pointing model again and got all stars on place close to the center of each pointing field. The reduction of test pointing test has been done and gave reasonable result. Paul and Craig continue to test EngCamera. Several more tests has been made. They checked orientation of axes, gprob for on axis and out of axis. As a result, the position of star can be found at dfifferent position of rotator and different shift of EngCamera off center. Finally we were working with optical collimation. Our initial primary mirr positions were 0, -3.3, 5.1, 278.1, 178.1 and our better tilts 1.06 21.78 0.0 278.3 178.03 We changed only 2nd and 3rd values, but the others were changed slightly. We did not recalculated this whole set of numbers as we think to continue on the next night.
