See PR 5772. DIMM which was reinstalled today was set up on Polaris by Steph and it ran all night with no problems. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- I turned off the light in the enclosure and then rebooted host and proceeded to check spectro collimation. I did not know that between the time I went to turn off the light and started the collimation, the engCrew started to setup DIMM. So the calibration frames (one flat and one arc) got more light than it should have. I took a bias after the two calib frames just to make sure all was well. Spec collimation checked and all were in focus. Night: ------ We decided to start with imaging. There was some trouble mounting the imager. When the imager is mounted, the NE primary latch won't light the latched LED on the control panel. The LED on the proximity sensor for that latch won't light either. It will light when the latch is empty. PR 5772 has been filed. The latch audibly engages, and the interlocks show the imager ID on all three switches. A call to French verified that we were indeed properly latched, and so with only a small delay we were on sky. 205 N ----- 01:40Z Run 4261 Decided to start with Sagitarius scan as both starting parts of 82 have been done this run. In focus from the start Skippy taking an eternity goDrift whined. Not sure if this was expected for this non-survey stripe. Error was: invalid stripe number, no calculations made continuing with idReport anyway 0 im> Skippy took so long it was time to start the real scan, so we decided to back up and start the real scan assuming rotator was OK. (sub arcsecond seeing was at least a hint we weren't too far off). Skippy eventually crashed (see problem section for traceback). Since we couldn't check pointing and weren't sure what else might be missing from headers etc, we decided to go back to stripe 82 so not to risk worthless data on such a beautiful night. 82 S ---- 02:17Z Run 4263 Focus and skippy happy from the start start of scan lambda=159 Well past ramp by start of survey area lambda 162, frame 32 tail-light glow seen reflecting off enclosure in low light camera, frame 58. Subarcsecond on about a third of the array. The donuts didn't look great (especially in the outer dewars), but not bad enough to warrant taking the remaining night time to do a full collimation update. Jim, here are the frames for the donuts.
