APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Monday March 8, 2004 (MJD 53073) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Swing: Pete Newman, Howard Brewington Support: Jon Brinkmann, Scot Kleinman ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Preparations for shakedown. ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- MCP fiducial tables built and installed. Spectro monthly check-out completed with no issues. After this log is sent, Howard will be conducting a flexure test to be reported tomorrow. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- An MCP hard reboot solved problem that watchers were not displaying the right-hand four flat-field petals in the first System Status display to be opened. The TPM's view of the PLC bits for the FF screens were consistent through-out, so we surmised that there was a miscommiunication between the watchers and the MCP. In any case, the problem went away after the reboot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- MCP Fiducials tables ==================== Fiducial sweeps were obtained on 2004 Feb 29, MJD 53064/53065, but note that the temperatures at the time of the sweeps were -3C compared to +10C now. Note that the MJD changed during the sweeps. One of the altitude crossings occured in MJD 53064, the rest in 53065, so the first was simply discarded.
