Three plates finished and a section of 23 N imaged under mostly good seeing, with one stretch of poor seeing. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing -------- During the afternoon checkout, the PT's FF lamp failed again. I replaced the lamp was able to complete the dome flats. A PR was filed asking to have the power supply to the lamp checked. Per the request during the eng/phone/con meeting, I homed D and E of M2. I could not talk to the Sp2's mech at first because it was unplugged, i.e., the 120 volt power cord was not connected. Did someone work on Sp2 recently? The spectro focus was checked and adjusted; see problems section for details. Night -------- We mounted the imager and opened at sunset. Details for strip 23 N are in the imaging details section. In short, the DIMM seeing looked good at twilight, but deteriorated right after we started the drift. We tried, but ended the scan quickly. 03:56Z We switched back to spectroscopy. Cartridge 4, plate 1602 We used Dan & Russell's "NOROTINSTXYSPECTRO" instrument block tonight. On the first gotoField, we saw no guide stars with this instrument block (or the old instrument block). Needed an FK5. Declared this plate done with a total exposure time of 2640 s. 05:12Z Cartridge 3, plate 1451 Guide stars on gotoField with offsets from previous plate. Clearing offsets, an FK5 star was about 7 asec south, all using "NOROTINSTXYSPECTRO". Finished this plate with a total exposure time of 2520 s. 06:38Z Cartridge 1, plate 1459 Guide stars on gotoField with offsets from previous plate. Plate finished with a total exposure time of 2340 s. 07:41Z We switched back to imaging on 23 N. We collected some useful data on 23 N with one stretch of poor seeing. See the imaging details section for start and stop frames and lambdas. 11:15Z Closed up for the night. 11:56Z endNight finished happily 11:57Z apo_daily_tapes on Omaha did not run. This section should probably be redone. The actual bad seeing chunks in that region are: lambda 46, frame 197 through lambda 48, frame 213 lambda 54, frame 251 through lambda 55, frame 260 The rest of the scan was under good seeing, with a
