We imaged the supernovae strip (82 N) from lambda -179.6 to -113.5. The data from frame 285 (lambda -143) on are survey quality. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift =========== During the imager doghouse bias run, watcher reported fiber protocol errors. See problems section for details. Same comments as last night regarding the 90deg altitude fiducial: if the altitude fiducial error is corrected crossing the 90deg fiducial, it is very likely the next crossing of the 75deg fiducial will be out of tolerance, as will all lower fiducials. So, after slewing away from instrument change, the telescope is likely to need manual fiducal acceptance in altitude. No other anomalies seen. Night: ------ Clouds delayed opening until 07:00Z. Run 4903: On-telescope bias that was mistakenly labeled as ignore. This bias ran for nearly 200 frames. No problems (dewar 1 or otherwise) were noticed. Run 4904: A short on-telescope bias taken shortly before we removed the building. Run 4905: Supernovae scan (82 N). Skippy, focus and seeing all good by frame 41 (lambda -179.6). Seeing is around 1" but there are high clouds (cloud camera standard deviation in the teens for what it's worth) so the data are not survey quality. An offset to correct for a 12" nu error was made around frame 38-39. Watcher started complaining about the sky values for ccd 45 around frame 325: skyL (10:16:32Z 2004-10-20 ccd45:). Nothing obvious was seen on the scrolling display and the plot from the watcher showed a steadily increasing sky but no huge jumps. Shortly thereafter, watcher also complained about the sky for ccd 22 (frame 340?). The complaints about ccd 22 were short lived (a frame or two) but those for ccd 45 lasted about 30 minutes. The sky became photometric starting around frame 285 (lambda -143).
