We took spectro monthly biases and darks. Then we took MSP imager calibration QE data on chips r5, r6, and u1. We had a problem clearing the brake on the altitude while we were finishing for the night because of an "ops_cart_in_house" interlock that we weren't able to clear or bypass (see problems). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- The 90 degree alt fiducial does not read in one direction (up?) and reads only occasionally in the other. Host2 was rebooted yesterday. After comparing the new fiducial tables to the current fiducial tables it was decided to continue using the current tables and not install the new ones. If a pointing check with the imager shows no problems, a pointing model will not be done this month. The mirrors were homed and the primary was relaxed. The mirror numbers looked fine. An abbreviated form of the Spectro Monthly checkout was performed. The x-positioning was checked and found to be good and the collimation was adjusted. Details can be found in the Problems section. The lambda positioning will wait until the Spectro UV Response test has been completed. The biases and darks will be done tonight if unable to go on sky. SoS was stopped and restarted so that it would run v5_1_7 of idlspec2d. The PT ff lamp change was verified. Changes to the new version of Procedures (v2_22) were also verified. Using the tpm_TM_PMSSAvg temp from caget, the spectrographs are currently collimated for a temp of approximately 0 degrees C. When we tried to move the telescope to an alt of 90 to take the cover for taking darks off of the mounted plate we couldn't clear the alt brake. The interlock was another "ops_cart_in_house". We had this problem on Dec. 28th and cleared it by putting the cart into position to mount a cartridge, engaged the pin that keeps the cart in place, disengaged it, and removed the cart from under the telescope. The curious thing this time is that the telescope was moved to an alt of 30 AFTER removing the cart earlier in the night so we can't get the cart under the telescope to try the engage/disengage fix. We looked for the interlock in the lower enclosure but couldn't decipher which one it would be. This means the telescope cannot move until the interlock is cleared and the cover for taking darks is still on the mounted cartridge.
