APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Monday January 22, 2007 (MJD 54123) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Olena Malanushenko Steph Snedden Mike Harvanek (swing) Audrey Simmons ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- High humidity and blowing snow. Another night lost. Never opened, and no data acquired. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- The 90 degree alt fiducial did not read in either direction. The 45 degree alt fiducial did not read going up. The triple imager dewar setup prevented azimuth motion so the az fiducials were not checked. Spectro collimation was adjusted. Details are in the Problems section. The mcp hung around 23:00Z(?) while doing the balance check. It was rebooted and appeared to come back okay. The mirror numbers were checked around 23:30Z and the primary mig lateral E & F values were off by about 0.06 and 0.08, respectively. The mirror numbers were checked again about an hour later and all values were found to be in spec. This "in spec" set of values is in the Mirrors section of the log. Watcher warned of a vs+ voltage error on ccd 55 around 00:24Z. Temp was about -1C in the enclosure at the time. Night: ------ Mostly clear, but humid at sunset. Northeast winds were strong enough to give us blowing snow as well. We couldn't open, but at least we didn't have to deal with power outages. endNight finished without problems. No other problems to report. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6684 00:02Z 00:22Z 100 O -168.26 -163.35 45 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n):n QA Procedures Done (y/n): partial (checked bias) UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 42603, plate -9999 ------- 00:06 42603 0.0 bias 00:15 42604 0.0 bias ----- sequence 42605, plate 2637 ------- 00:25 42605 10.0 flat spectro collimation 00:27 42606 2.0 arc " 00:59 42607 10.0 flat " 01:01 42608 2.0 arc " ----- sequence 42609, plate -9999 ------- 02:28 42609 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:05Z 18 16 -9999 -9999 (N) 243 - 00:36Z 16 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 197 - mostly clear 01:06Z 15 14 -9999 -9999 (N) 177 - ' 01:26Z 15 14 -9999 -9999 (N) 235 - ' 01:58Z 15 14 -9999 -9999 (N) 263 - ' 02:31Z 15 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 213 - ' 03:04Z 16 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 221 - partly cloudy 03:36Z 16 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 254 - ' 04:08Z 17 16 -9999 -9999 (N) 299 - ' 04:41Z 17 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 353 - ' 05:13Z 17 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 389 - ' 05:45Z 17 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 453 - ' 06:17Z 17 15 -9999 -9999 (N) 571 - ' 06:49Z 18 16 -9999 -9999 (N) 612 - ' 07:21Z 17 13 -9999 -9999 (N) 559 - ' 07:53Z 18 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 902 - ' 08:30Z 19 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 1019 - ' 09:02Z 19 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 1211 - ' 09:34Z 19 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 1227 - ' 10:06Z 19 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 980 - ' 10:38Z 18 17 -9999 -9999 (N) 1043 - ' ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Never ventilated, never opened.
