APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Tuesday February 3, 2009 (MJD 54866) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Dan Oravetz (observer) Dmitry Bizyaev (observer) MARVELS team: Jian Ge Nathan De Lee ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- MARVELS until 09:22 (7.8 h), then SEGUE (3.2 h) ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Clear, good seeing all night long. MARVELS plates exposed: 3077 f. A&B (c. 1), 3088 f. A&B (c. 3), 3219 f.B (c. 4), 3091 f. A (c. 8). SEGUE plate 3214 (c. 5) is finished. There are only 4 (!) SEGUE plates available for tomorrow, and nothing (!!) of them in the morning, so we leave cart. 9 (which is done) plugged to get additional signal on it. In the morning, both power supply blocks (blue and red) on sp2 were failed, and power cycling restored only one of them. We are leaving red LED on blue sp2 camera's power block to make its investigation easy in day time. See log for details. RED block became good, no red LEDs. BLUE block got the same: +10 V fauls. Now is 12:14Z, 18 min to twillight. The block replacement will take at least 15 min. Then we need to observe at least 15 min + extra time for calibrations. It means the blocks replacement right now won't let us observe any way.
