APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Monday September 9, 2002 (MJD 52527) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Daniel Long Mike Harvanek ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- We got one, count 'em, one science exposures tonight. It was on cartridge 2 669. The rest of the night we were closed due to one or more of the following; rain, clouds, high humidity. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- 06:45z Opening much delayed by rain, clouds, and humidity. On the sky around 07:05z. Cartridge 2 669: PhotoZ Guide stars on the slew First spectro frame after opening came back with old teamster died message. There was no problem restarting it and no explanation for it dying. My window manager froze while I was typing in logTool. After several minutes when it hadn't come back, I killed the X-session and as soon as I did, the following messages popped up in the watcher for the TCC. Text="Write to user failed:output terminates to user3": (2002-09-10 07:37:58Z) Text="Could not queue a write to user:message output dies": (2002-09-10 07:37:58Z) Facil="SYSTEM":VMSMsg:"DEVOFFLINE" (2002-09-10 07:37:58Z) Facil="SYSTEM":VMSMsg:"HANGUP" (2002-09-10 07:37:58Z) First exposure got 10s. Second exposure didn't even make 2 due to increasing clouds. It ( exposure 16334 ) was declared bad. 08:08z We decided to close, about an hour after getting on the sky. We did not reopen. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3331 23:40Z 23:57Z 100 O 53.10 57.39 43 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 16326, plate 1023 ------- 00:07 16326 10.0 flat 00:09 16327 2.0 arc 00:18 16328 10.0 flat 00:20 16329 2.0 arc ----- sequence 16330, plate -9999 ------- 00:49 16330 0.0 bias ----- sequence 16331, plate 669 ------- 8.2 12.0 10.0 10.1 07:23 16331 10.0 flat 07:26 16332 2.0 arc 07:50 16333 1201.0 target 08:05 16334 702.0 target ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 07:19Z 2 669 15.70 0.0022 56.20 0.0003 193.12 -0.0023 1.000170 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL5521 Stays: JL5522 It took a lot longer for 5522 to write than 5521.
