Finished Cartridge 1 1027 before moon went down. Switched to imager and did all of stripe 82 N in a single 800+ frame run (3384). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- The rotator aborted while moving from 0 to 20 degrees as part of the fiducial check during the afternoon checkout. An axis init cleared the problem, and subsequent slews were fine. Since the MiG batteries were replaced for the primary today, the zero points changed somewhat. The primary was relaxed and new nominal values were taken. The largest change was in axial C where the nominal value went from .07 to .82 Note that this is only a change in the reading, not the position of the mirror. 01:20Z Cartridge 1 1027 Guide stars on slew. Finished in 3 additional exposures 02:50Z: After the first plate was finished, skies were still clear and the moon was within 30 minutes of setting, so we decided to switch to the imager. There were a couple problems during the instrument change. First, the pin for the imager cart would not engage the rail when positioned over the lift. French was still up and came down for a look. He traced it to an adjustment problem in the shock absorber. It was adjusted and the pin then worked fine. We had another fiducial error too large to correct upon moving from instrument change. Like last night it was in azimuth. It was corrected before the drift was started. 03:45Z: 3384 82 N: Good from frame 18 ( no corrections needed from skippy results ). This corresponds to a lambda of about 122. There were sky errors reported in CCD 45 between about frame 660 and the end of the run. The same plot pattern appeared in other z' chips, so maybe the threshold is too low for CCD45? Donuts taken between frame 805 and the end. 805 in focus 809 -300 813 +300 We found out that seeing run can _only_ plot a 700 frame run.
