WIth altitude at 87deg, I found the telescope to be slightly front (east) heavy: Up 5000 counts/sec: +1850+-200 mV Down 5000 counts/sec: -850+-200 mV I checked the spectrographs' focus. The collimator mirrors and the b1 focus ring needed adjustment. See Spectrograph Collimation section for details (follows the Problems section). No other anomalies noted. Night shift: ------------ Since a weak front had passed over late last night (indicating seeing might not be as good as last night) and there were a few clouds around, (though dissipating) we decided to start with spectroscopy. Cartridge 2, plate 1305: 02:59Z Start science. Seeing looks great. Declared this plate done with a total exposure time of 1920 s. Skies now photometric. 04:11Z Completed the instrument change...on to imaging. See the imaging details section for the particulars. The seeing was subarcsec in i' for almost all of the night. Donuts for Jim saved (see imaging details section). id 5-2 suffered a Rimfire write error early in the first imaging run. The autorecovery sequence worked. Following the established policy, we continued to image with frames only going to id 5-1. The error messages are in the problems section.
