APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Sunday May 9, 2004 (MJD 53135) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Howard Brewington Atsuko Nitta Mike Harvanek (swing) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Tested the shake item: IOP PR5986. Declared plates 1389 and 1414 done. Got one exposure on plate 1726. Imager's psi is low, i.e., 14.5; see problems section. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: Spectro collimation checked and adjusted. Details in the problems section. Night: Because of clouds and/or dust, we could not open at sunset. IOP PR5986 related shake -------------------------- We did the following inside the enclosure with the stop button in while waiting for the weather to improve. 1. scanStripe 23 S 21 This took about 3min20sec to complete. 2. track to stow from TCC. 3. edproc tccPutAndWait and set the time out to be 10s. Then I got the following on the screen along with a BIG WINDOW ALL IN RED with BEEP saying "scanStripe timed out waiting for a response from the TCC". No way we can miss this one. Good Job Eric! This window will beep at you until you click on hush or dismiss. It looks like I was kicked out of tcc and then connected back on from the message on the screen. m> scanStripe 23 S 21 leap seconds = 32 calcStripeParams: stripe 23 great circle node,inc: 95.00,32.50 RA,Dec start: 117.81,13.87 end: 252.19,13.87 survey start: -63.50,0.00 end: 63.50,0.00 azEl start: 270.93,69.24 Requested start, RA,Dec: 209.472341 30.106733 vel: 0.004073 -0.00093 lambda,eta: 21.00 0.00 [xy]Bore: 22.740237 0.000000 airmass: 1.07 scanStripe opening flat field screens 2004-05-10 07:24:22Z: tccPut track 209.47234089,30.10673282 FK5 /rotty=obj ta=0 /rotwrap=MID /azwrap=MID /ScanVelocity=(0.0040732621895908259,-0.000929 4177898008) /Name="stripe 23-S" tccClose done TCCUSER Password: Last interactive login on Monday, 10-MAY-2004 05:25:36.78 Your process name is _NTY507: 0 0 I UserNum=11; Text="User added to message hub" 0 11 I YourUserNum=11 0 11 : UserNum=11; UserAdded 0 0 I TCCStatus="SSS","NNN"; TCCPos=271.01,69.22,26.44; AxePos=121.00,30.00,0 0 0 I AxisErrCode="OK","OK","OK" 0 0 W AzStat=120.999523, 0.000000, 4590890717.61411, 0x00003800; BadAzStatus; DTime=0.0 0 0 W AltStat=29.999631, 0.000000, 4590890717.69663, 0x00003800; BadAltStatus ltDTime=-0.1 0 0 W RotStat=0.000249, 0.000000, 4590890717.85662, 0x00003800; BadRotStatus; tDTime=-0.1; RotID=1, 0 0 0 I CurrArcOff = 0.363381, 0.004074, 4590890783.50505, -0.082962, -0.000930 590890783.50505 0 0 I ObjNetPos = 209.892032, 0.004701, 4590890783.50442, 30.023105, -0.00094 4590890783.50442 0 0 I ObjInstAng = 103.070782, 0.002352, 4590890783.50442 0 0 I SpiderInstAng = 26.984890, 0.004800, 4590890783.50442 2004-05-10 07:24:52Z: iop connection made to tcc25m.apo.nmsu.edu The track command issued by scanStripe has timed out!
