No problems to report. We are running iop test version: v4_19_0 night: ------ Since the satellite images indicated the weather would deteriorate during the night, and we had three beginning-of-night plates with partial signal, we opted to try to fight the Moon and clouds at the beginning of the night in order to try and finish the plates. Standard shakeup tasks would wait until the weather stopped science. 01:32Z - Cartridge 2, plate 2428 - Legacy Since we went to the field in bright twilight, we offset to an FK5 and waited for twilight to deepen. 02:22Z Science begins. Finished this plate in one 1200s exposure, after adding in the signal acquired last night. 02:54Z - Clouds thickened. We waited for a nice long sucker hole. 03:44Z - A sucker hole - how long will it last? We forced the sucker hole's hand by starting an exposure on: Cartridge 1, plate 2427 - Legacy Sure enough, the clouds thickened. The exposure was declared bad. We moved on to standard shakeup tasks: Dithered flats: --------------- These frames are in /data/spectro/53801 Pre flat & arc, frames 37955, 37956 dithered flats, frames 37957 - 37971 - don't use these WARNING: Although we had NO error message in the SOP window, it looks like the sp2 collimator mirror failed to move properly for frame 37965. Certainly, the mirror did not return to the proper position at the end of the sequence. We moved sp2's collimator back to the correct position via mechMoveColl and re-did the dithered flats :-( Post arcs, frames 37972, 37973 Do again: Craig, use these data Pre-flat & arc, frames 37976, 37977 Dithered flats, frames 37978 - 37992 Post-arcs, frames 37993, 37994 The second set of dithered flats looked fine. After that, we warmed up the DIMM camera and powered down both camera and telescope for bright time. IOP PRs: -------- We called Eric to consult about the disposition of these PRs after testing: 6875 and 6910 should really be tested over more than one night before they are closed. PR 6714 - catch for setvddnom point to wrong place. If you issue "cc setvddnom" in IOP, it now asks you to use the correct command (setImagerAmpsOn). Camera communications were unaffected by the PR, so we closed this PR. PR 6875 - close-on-exec flag needs to be set on some iop file descriptors. We saw no udp port error messages, but since they were pretty infrequent in the past, we feel this PR needs more testing. We will leave it in "needs test" for now. PR 6910 - mop sometimes fails to get good J2000 coordinates out of TCS. Although we saw no problems tonight, we will leave this PR in "needs test", since it should be tested over a longer period of time than one night. sdssProcedures: -------------- The changes to navigate.html and the afternoon readiness check document were there. The new document for sled disk maintenance was there.
