We finished 2 Segue stripes 1660 S and 1020 S, and part of the strip 1188 S (mu 276 to 288.5, ramp are not included). Bad seeing forced us to switch to spectro at 09:50Z, we finished one plate 2208 (combined S/N collected on MJD 53878). Dust count was below 1K for the whole night. Intergrated dust-hours was about 8.0K. Spectro dewar needs to be replaced. Problems: Two problems during DIMM setup, and we gave it up after a few attempts (see problem section for the details). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- The spectro collimation was checked but not adjusted. The collimation is currently set for a temperature of approximately 15 degrees C. No problems to report. Night: ------ 01:25Z Fans on, Louvers and doors open. 01:40Z Since conditions were similar to last night's, we expected seeing would be good, and since 1660 strip is getting late for this dark run (or this year), we decided to start with the imager. 02:36Z During the twilight time, we closed enclosure, and took bias. Run 6165 on-telescope bias. 02:43Z end drift. 03:30Z Run 6166. Stripe 1660 S. Ramp start at mu=193, fram 16 (so ramp began 3 min before twilight ended at 03:36Z). Science started at frame 39. Skippy and focus were good since fram 16. Seeing was good at about 1.0 to 1.1" at the begining, but degraded to 1.5 at frame 80, and improved to 1.3 at frame 100. Skies became marginally photometric between 05:10Z to 05:25Z, mu from 216 to 221, (sky standard deviation at 6.0 to 6.9). At 05:35Z, Jurek cleaned up reflecting surface of cloud camera. Then standard deviation dropped below 4.0, so most likely, skies were photometric all time so far. The huge spike in stardard deviation was due to Jurek's action of cleaning the surface. 6:03Z, science ended at mu=230, frame 272. 06:12Z, ended ramp at frame 287. 06:15Z Run 6167, stripe 1020 S. Ramp started at 06:25Z, mu=264, frame 23. Science started at 06:33Z, frame 36. Skippy and focus were good, but seeing was bad from begining. EndDrift and called the run bad. 06:45Z Run 6168, stripe 1020S. We backup and tried this stripe again since it would be a few degree higher, hope seeing would be better. Ramp started at acceptable seeing. Then all was ok. Hope it was good enough. Science stopped at 07:47Z, mu=277, frame 113. Ramp ended at 07:55Z, frame 126. 08:03Z Run 6169, Stripe 1188S. Ramp started at 08:07Z, mu=274, frame 16. Science started at 08:15Z, frame 30. At the begining of the scan, nu error was 8.3. When trying to run skippy, we got error message (see problem section), but next skippy command worked fine. At frame # 127, mu=290.5, Seeing became Bad (the rest frames of this run were called BAD), we endDrift and switched to spectro. 09:53Z Due to bad seeing. We switched to spectro. cart 8, plt 2208 (chunk). FK5 for stars. Seeing was good, at about 1.1 (because pointing at slightly different part of the sky?). During DIMM setup, we noticed that the CCD temperature could NOT be cooled down to -7.0 C. Jurek thinks that this may be due to outside temperature is high, 18.5 C at 03:40Z. 2. "Center" function does not work. After pointing the Meade to the polaris, we saw the star image in the ccd chip, we lost the star once we click on 'center". After a few attempts, we started seeing measurement without "center" star, star was lost when we came back to the control room. We got three point seeing measurements which indicated that seeing was good, about 1.0", at the begining of the night. --Skippy: At the begining of run 6169, we got the following error message when tried to run skippy (but next skippy command worked fine).
