The sparse plugged plate flats and arcs were taken per Craig's instructions. The flare is still present. More arc stability tests were run for Craig The monthly imager bias and flat were taken. New problem: Sp1's slithead door apparently has a faulty valve (see problems section). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- We came in to find the PT camera slowly warming. We power-cycled the CryoTiger and it started cooling back down. Note the M1 MIG values in the "mirror" section are quite different now. We won't set new nominal values until after optical collimation is done. Please see French's day log about the problem with reading the fiducials. The fiducial crossing signal is getting lost somehere on the slip detection board, they think. We will not have a working telescope tonight. id5 was not responding during the checkout and photo crate 2 was rebooted before the test bias was run. Night: ------ The tasks that we can do tonight without a working telescope are: More arc lamp tests for Craig Sparse-plugged plate tests for Craig Imager bias check and flat check - if the lightning cooperates. ----- Arc lamp stability tests: 03:10Z Neon lamp on, HgCd off. We queued 25 2-second arcs. Frames 40315 - 40339 04:35Z For good measure, and because we had the time, we did 25 2-second HgCd lamp arcs. The HgCd lamp stability hasn't been an issue as I recall, but I'm not sure if we have ever studied it before. When we were down at the enclosure, we toggled the doors closed and sp1's door did close, however the air valve didn't shut off properly, and kept hissing. When the door is open, the valve closes properly.
