The weather continued to deteriorate, (rain and lightning) so we moved on to another cloudy night test: =========================================================================== Test requested by Dan & David. How stable are the new arc lamps under varying warm-up times? We used Elena's tcl proc to automate the wait and warm-up times, but forgot to wait fifteen minutes before we started it, so the shortest warm-up time was actually done last. Below are some selected line peak fluxes as measured by apoplotarc for r1 and b1. Note that the lines on b1 (lambda 4047, 4358, 5461) got stronger as the warm-up delay increased, but the r1 lines did not. Presumably, this means the Ne-Ar lamps are more stable. For both r1 and b1, new lines (carrier gas species?) appeared with the longer warm-up delays. They are not included in the lines tabulated below, but some of the new lines were pretty strong.
