Thanks to Dan Long to come on site to fix it (see log). During most of the night, The humidity was at 20%, dew point was about 20 C, we had a accumulated dust count of about 28K. Please check and clean the mirror. FYI: the above accumulated dust count was based on APO weather station. When APO weather station reported a dust count of 3.3K, the 2.5m site measurement with the particle counter in 2.5m control room indicated 5.1K. CrtoTiger of PT was making noise when we closed PT. endNight finsihed without copying ircam images, re-run endNight from an usually working account didnot copy files either (see log). Do we have to copy ircam images manually? Why? We leave it as it is now. If we have to copy manually, Kaike will do it later. We finished three legacy plates: 2750, 2766, and 2157. got signal on segue plate 2176. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- The monitor 'Photometric #4' still no wrking. No other problems. Spectro has been adjusted to nigh tem =+9C with cartridge #6 mounted. 00:50Z - cartridge #3 has been mounted. Began ventilation. Doors and louvers opened, fans on. Night: ------ 02:40Z cart 3, plate 2600 (chunk). FK5 used for stars. 03:02Z pre-calib. 03:11Z first 20-min exposure. we had a watcher message saying one flat field screen is NOT open. Beause we got all guiding stars I thought it is false warning. I recycled close and open the screens from MCP. MCP still said flate field screen was closing. Then I went down telescope. The physical check indicated the 10:30 screen (the left upper concer one if telescope is stow at 121, 30 and you stand facing it) did stay closing. Then French, Dan, and Wendell were called. But French was on the way hime, we did not reached him. Wendell let us try to manually open the petal to check if it is switch problem or clutch problem. It seems it is clutch problem. When French called us back, Dan was on the way here to fix it, so we decide not to do anything before Dan get here. After some investigation, Dan found that one tiny screw on the clutch was gone, replacing it fix the problem. But this costly tiny screw did wasted 2.5 hours on sky time (half hour was billed due to the exposure we took on plate 2600 was bad). 05:40Z cart 5, plate 2750 (chunk). FK5 used for stars. The plate is DONE with a total exposure time of 3100s. 07:00Z cart 7, plate 2766 (chunk). SOGTF. The plate was DONE with a total exposure of 2400s. 08:10Z cart 2, plate 2157 (chunk). SOGTF. Seeing just went bad, as bad as 2.5". The plate was DONE with a total exposure time of 3600s. 09:35Z cart 6, plate 2176 (segue). SOGTF. got two 20-min exposure on this plate. The plate was NOT done yet. 11:05Z endNight finished without copying ircam images to /data/mt/54242/ircam. When Audrey ran endNight, it ask that the connection(?) is not established, continue? answer yes, then it asked for passphrase, we don't know the passphrass, just tried somethinsg to let endNight get out there, then it quickly finished without copied the ircam images. Kaike tried to run another endNight, it didnot do anything except to say endNight finished. Usually, re-run endNight will finish uncompleted task, but not this time.
