APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Thursday October 4, 2007 (MJD 54378) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Audrey Simmons (swing) Kaike Pan Viktor Malanushenko Jennie Baerny (UW) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- SEGUE & Supernova Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Thick clouds, high humidity, rain. We never open. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Checkout went smoothly. No problems to report. :) Note that the imager nitrogen ln2 tank downstairs is exactly at 500 psi. It will probably need exchanging soon. Thanks. Spectro collimation set tonight for 13C. See problem section for details. 00:06Z - Started ventilation with doors and louvers open, fans on... but it is getting more and more cloudy... Night: ------ We had thick clouds and nearby lighting at the begining of the night, then high humidity, rain. At 06:10Z, we did see any clue that the sky would improve soon. we closed encloure doors, and started one cloudy night task: took a set of dithered spectroscopic flats with plate . Corresponding frames were: 46514-46528 (flats) and 46529-46530(arc). At 06:45Z rain sensor went off. 10:50Z endNight rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7022 21:49Z 22:04Z 100 O 49.69 53.43 39 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): QA Procedures Done (y/n): UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 46505, plate -9999 ------- 21:51 46505 0.0 bias ----- sequence 46506, plate 2308 ------- 23:19 46506 10.0 flat 23:22 46507 2.0 arc 23:26 46508 3.0 arc 23:29 46509 3.0 arc 23:47 46510 3.0 arc 23:50 46511 2.0 arc ----- sequence 46512, plate -9999 ------- 23:59 46512 0.0 bias 00:04 46513 0.0 bias ----- sequence 46514, plate 2308 ------- 06:14 46514 10.0 flat 06:19 46515 10.0 flat 06:23 46516 10.0 flat 06:27 46517 10.0 flat 06:31 46518 10.0 flat 06:35 46519 10.0 flat 06:39 46520 10.0 flat 06:44 46521 10.0 flat 06:48 46522 10.0 flat 06:52 46523 10.0 flat 06:56 46524 10.0 flat 07:00 46525 10.0 flat 07:04 46526 10.0 flat 07:08 46527 10.0 flat 07:12 46528 10.0 flat 07:17 46529 2.0 arc 07:19 46530 2.0 arc ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 20:44Z 62 44 9 236 (SW) 437 - 21:16Z 61 44 7 258 (WSW) 628 - 21:48Z 63 46 13 224 (SW) 429 - 22:18Z 66 46 12 243 (WSW) 369 - 22:50Z 62 45 10 268 (W) 403 - 23:20Z 60 46 11 188 (S) 423 - 23:51Z 61 47 8 210 (SSW) 487 - 00:22Z 59 46 14 203 (SSW) 445 - 00:34Z 58 46 8 187 (S) 499 - 01:05Z 56 46 13 194 (SSW) 513 - 01:35Z 56 47 11 186 (S) 587 - 02:06Z 56 47 13 202 (SSW) 574 - 02:39Z 56 47 11 195 (SSW) 647 - 03:11Z 56 47 13 190 (S) 656 - 03:43Z 56 47 15 185 (S) 642 - 04:15Z 55 46 10 202 (SSW) 716 - 04:47Z 56 47 13 203 (SSW) 1021 - 05:20Z 55 47 14 194 (SSW) 1299 - 05:53Z 55 48 12 195 (SSW) 1101 - 06:24Z 55 48 8 189 (S) 914 - 06:56Z 50 51 11 188 (S) 3225 - 07:28Z 49 47 15 152 (SSE) 508 - 08:00Z 51 51 19 178 (S) 1225 - 08:32Z 50 50 14 157 (SSE) 5313 - 09:05Z 50 50 14 176 (S) 934 - 09:37Z 50 49 14 194 (SSW) 584 - 10:09Z 50 49 12 201 (SSW) 574 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 00:06Z - Began ventilation.
