Obtained useful signal on a SEGUE faint plate (2876). We accumulated about 18,000 "dust-hours" tonight. Please check the mirror. It took two tries to get the cloud camera to start running (see the afternoon section). Images were successfully copied at the end of the night. The imager dewar will need replacing in the morning. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- All systems checked and working properly. The Spectro focus was checked, but no adjustment made. It still set for about 10 C. Dan, please note: The first time we started the cloud camera, the script said the cloud camera was running, but no images made it to disk, and it soon went to a "not running" state. On the second attempt to start the camera, it worked. We still have an intermittent problem, apparently. Night: ------ 02:15Z - Cartridge 3, plate 2876 - SEGUE faint GSOGTF in twilight Disabled fiber 6 because of an elongated PSF. Acquired useful signal in two exposures totaling 3000s, but the plate is not yet done. 04:01Z - Cartridge 9, plate 2905 - SEGUE bright GSOGTF Disabled guide fiber 8, since the FWHM was greater than that of the other guide stars. This plate was declared done with five exposures totaling 8400s. 07:09Z - Cartridge 8, plate 2907 - SEGUE bright GSOGTF This plate is probably done, but we want verification from Brian after the full reduction is run. An email was sent to him. We took eight exposures totaling 12,000s. endNight rejoiced. It also copied the irsc images tonight.
