We finished imager flats and biases before lightning got too close. An astigmatism actuator air line is musically leaking (hums). It sounds like it is on the east side of the telescope in the parked position. French knows about it. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- One problem during afternoon checkout. We heard a fairly high-pitched and not-too-loud hum in the enclosure that came from the east side of the telescope at stow. Larry's fine-tuned ear pinned it to inside the PSS area. He disconnected the air supply to the astgmatism correctors and the hum stopped. An astigmatism corrector is leaking. French was notified, and we discussed feeding each astigmatism actuator air line to a different reed on a harmonica. If you had perfect pitch, you could tell which actuator was leaking ;-) Spectro focus was left unchanged. Set for 13C We tested doing the afternoon focus check with the dual pointing plate. As long as all fibers are plugged, a dual pointing plate should work as well as any other plate for spectro focus check, and it did. No hidden surprises. Night: ----- Cloudy at sunset. We waited. 05:24Z - It didn't look like it would clear anytime soon. We mounted the imager for flats and biases. We found another mouse in the doghouse that didn't read the ODH signs. It was disposed of.
