We were not able to start observing until 03:30Z. The guider actor failed to connect several times throughout the night. We got the same error as last night with trying to load cartridge 8 (plate 3512) side B. We were not able to observe it. See log for error message. We observed the following MARVELS fields in mostly clear, excellent seeing conditions: Cart 1, plate 3517, A&B Cart 9, plate 3513, A&B Cart 3, plate 3084, A Cartridges 1 and 3 both have broken fibers 93-94 corresponding to blue bundle 8, fiber color blue, tape color orange, overlay 28. The MARVELS operating software sends repeated alert messages, warning that the temperature for cd-10 is out of range. See afternoon section of log for error message. We observed BOSS the last two hours of the night with cart 11, plate 3621. We had moderate to bad seeing, and lots of scattered clouds. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Restarted the servers. Pinged all STUI actors. Guider actor was not connected. Restarted the actor through 'stageManager'. Also, Jon took platedb offline for repairs (bus configuration problem), so we could not access the database nor load a cartridge. Opened MARVELS oberving software and turned on THAR lamp. There is an on-going error about the temperature of ch-10 being out of range. The error message is displayed below. Seeing 1.0" During the first part of the exposure, the guider would allow the most of the guide stars to move to the edges of their fibers and then a few frames later, center them back up. We noticed a big change in the magnitude of the error vectors within the guider plot. One can easily see on the MARVELS PMT counts graph an oscillating pattern, ranging from 50 counts to 10 counts.
