The spectro and imager dewars are down to their last fill. Imaging ------- Run 8094 - Bias. Run 8095 - 85 S from lambda {134,-158} including ramps. Average seeing as reported by seeingRun was ~1.4". This stripe is DONE. Run 8096 - 74 N from lambda {143,-173} including ramps. Average seeing as reported by seeingRun was ~1.3". This stripe is DONE. Run 8097 - 70 S from lambda {-164,-153} including ramps. NOTE: Moonrise ocurred when lambda = -153 during this run, at which point we only completed 45 minutes (this comprises the lambda interval written above). We continued imaging from lambda = -153 until lambda = -149 in order to meet the 1 hour minimum scan length. For what it's worth, we were pointing due west. So, the entire 1 hour scan was imaged from lambda {-164,-153} (before moonrise) + {-153,-149} (after moonrise). For what it's worth, we were pointing due west and the moon phase was such that only 11% was illuminated. Counterweights adjusted to 715. 00:20Z - When we went to put cart. 13 into the cartridge bay, we discovered that all nine slots were full. We went inside the plug lab and moved cart. 7 out of the bay to make room for cart. 13. Night ===== 00:31Z - Sunset. 00:33Z - Closed the enclosure doors and ensured things were dark in preparation for the on-telescope bias. We had to tape over some LEDs, but we're confident we got nearly all of them. On-telescope Imager Bias, Run 8094 ********************************** 00:43Z - goDrift -bias. T-bars unlatched. 01:04Z - Opened. Force-filled spectrographs and forced an imager fill since we had to go to 6-deg. to open. Fiducial crossings looked good. 01:50Z - Focus good from lambda = 132, frame 16. 01:53Z - 18-deg. twilight. 01:57Z - Start ramp at lambda = 134, frame 29. We checked the image headers for all six columns and the RA, DEC, axis positions, were all reporting correctly. Skippy was working as well; results in Skippy section. nuErr was around -8.9 to begin with, but for most of the run it dropped to values |nuErr| < 8. 02:05Z - Start science at lambda = 136, frame 42. 06:20Z - End science at lambda = -160, frame 470. 06:28Z - End ramp at lambda = -158, frame 484. Average seeing from median seeing plot was ~1.3". 09:35Z - We had 50 minutes until moonrise. We decided that the most efficient use of time would be continuing with BOSS imaging even though the last ~10 minutes of a minimum 1 hour scan would be after moonrise. If the data aren't useful as a result of part of the scan being after moonrise, we didn't have much spectroscopy available anyway given that the current plates plugged only allow us to go until sidereal time hits 70 degrees as per Kyle's most recent BOSS spectro night plan. So, we could have used the dark photometric time swapping instruments in preparation for BOSS spectro cals the rest of the night, or use the time to try and get some potentially useful imaging data. We chose the latter. BTW, can someone please remind us as to the origin/reasoning for the 1 hour minimum scan length? 70S, Run 8097 ************* 09:36Z - scanStripe 70 S -165. 09:36Z - goDrift.
