APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Monday April 7, 2003 (MJD 52737) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Swing:Atsuko Nitta Night:Howard Brewington Steph Snedden ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- We were closed most of the night because of high wind, dust, and/or humidity. Yet, we did get some signal on one plate (#1296) and addressed three shake PRs. FYI, cartridge 05 was left on the L-cart just inside the 2.5m enclosure because of bad weather conditions. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon ----------- spectros in focus. Night: ------------ Sky was clear at sunset, but we had moon light. Therefore, we started with spectro. 02:03Z PLATE 1296, CARTRIDGE 01 Field found with FK5 star. Tonight, 1296 requested a 0.014 scale change, which was much more reasonable as compared to the 0.085 from last evening. The wind came out of the east, and seeing conditions were very poor and variable (~3" to 4"). Such circumstances translated into low efficiency, i.e., 1.8 (S/N)^2 captured during a 1500 second exposure. Then came the high wind, dust, and humidity; we closed and worked on some shake items. ---------- 01) PR 4974 (quickDisplayAll) was tested and closed. 02) PR 4971 (source $env(IOP_DIR)/etc/murmurCommands.tcl) was tested and assigned to feedback although it seemed to work as advertised. However, we have questions about whether or not we will always need to source the tcl code. 03) PR 1206 (endDrift) was tested and reassigned to Jen. The new questions were present; see the following: im> goDrift Flavor of this run (science, bias, calibration, engineering, ignore, help) []: science Stripe, Strip (e.g, 22,N or SS,N) []: 10 O Invalid stripe; must be of form nnn,?, where ? is N, S, or O Stripe, Strip (e.g, 22,N or SS,N) []: 10,O Please provide a one line comment [] I lie.
