Also did 25 S (lambda -63 to -32) as well as 25 N (lambda 12 to 49). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon Checkout ------------------- After a TCC "mirror stat" command, we discoverd that the mirror numbers for M2 were out of spec. So, we homed the secondary. Consequently, there are two sets of mirror numbers in this log. Other than doing a preCal and checking the XSIGMA and WSIGMA numbers in SoS, we did not check or focus the spectros; the XSIGMA and WSIGMA numbers were in the black. Night -------------------- We had thin clouds at twilight, so we started with spectro. 01:40Z Cartrigde 05, Plate 1154 (fstar51). An Fk5 star was used to find the field; however, we still needed to offset the Fk5 by A=+22 and D=-8. We completed four twenty-mimute exposures but were unable to declare this plate done. 04:00Z Cartridge 08, Plate 1759 (chunk91). An Fk5 star was used to find the field after the offsets were cleared. Yet, the Fk5 was still offset A=+13 and D=+3. We declared this plate done after three exposures. The thin clouds moved on, so we mounted the imager. 05:35Z Run 4508, start of imager science, 25 S startLambda =-63 with a two lambda ramp to endLambda -32 with 2 lambda ramp; see imagingDetails. Because Mike's iop session stopped working during the setup for this run, we started this stripe two minutes beyond the start-time range. "Error: timed out waiting for the TCC to complete command offset boresight -0.10483333333333333,0.,0.,0. /PAbsolute /Wait /Computed" 06:55Z Servers crashed, but a start_servers -K fixed the problem. 08:05Z Run 4509, 25 N, startLambda 09. We ended this drift because of a large ThetaF error. 08:18Z Run 4510, 25 N, startLambda 09. After restarting this stripe, the nuErr and ThetaF were somewhat reduced, but we're not still sure about the pointing accuracy. We ended the drift because we think we issued the offsets command incorrectly, i.e., we used arc seconds instead of decimal degrees. 08:47Z Run 4511, 25 N startLamba 09. We ended this drift to try again. 09:10Z Run 4512, 25 N startLambda 12 + 2 lambda ramp to endLambda of 49 + 2 lambda ramp. We were successful this time with the offset command for the rotator; however, the stripeAxisRates were borderline. im> stripeAxisRates 25 9:00 -startLambda 8 Min/Max Rates: Altitude -8.7 --> 3.5 (arcsec/tsec) Azimuth 0.8 --> 69.5 Rotator 5.8 --> 77.2 The nuErr for Run 4512 was greater than 8" after frame 148 but did not exceed the max limit of 18". 11:55Z On telescpe bias with T-bars unlatched. Sorry, no time to do the donuts. endNight finished and was happy.
