APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Tuesday February 1, 2005 (MJD 53403) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Atsuko Nitta (swing) Steph Snedden Mike Harvanek Keeping eyes on the World: Hercules Keeping eyes on the virtual World: Cloomis ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Night lost to snow, clouds and high humidity. Happy 5th anniversary (SDSS) to Atsuko. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon ========== Snow and clouds in the afternoon. There was no anomaly today. inside temperature is 2.4C while the outside is -7.2C. The spectro focus was checked yesterday at lower temperature. The flat and arc exposures show all is well. But since the telescope/spectros are warmer than the air, it is likely that if we open tonight the collimation needs adjustments. Steph did the telescope checkout. Thanks Steph. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 5th yr anniversary! Congratulations Atsuko!!! Night ===== Snow, clouds and high humidity. There was an error message upon startup of logTool: im> logTool 2005-02-02 01:26:41Z: Failed to execute command on observer@sos.apo.nmsu.edu; ssh error was Son-of-Spectro cron IS running for USER=observer MACHINE=sos.apo.nmsu.edu. Warning: /boot/System.map has an incorrect kernel version. .logtool.logviewer2 im> This caused the SoS version number to be missing from the log. Craig was notified and is working on the problem. The watcher version number is also missing from the log. Apparently, this is due to a different but known??? problem. We never opened due to the weather. endNight ran onto cloudy night tapes. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5133 23:38Z 00:32Z 100 O -163.88 -150.41 102 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): YES QA Procedures Done (y/n): NO UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 30764, plate -9999 ------- 23:40 30764 0.0 bias 23:48 30765 0.0 bias ----- sequence 30765, plate 2061 ------- 00:17 30766 10.0 flat 00:19 30767 2.0 arc ----- sequence 30768, plate -9999 ------- 01:45 30768 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: None Stays: None ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 23:01Z 19 18 7 257 (WSW) -9999 - clouds, snow 23:33Z 19 17 3 239 (WSW) -9999 - clouds, snow 00:03Z 19 17 5 275 (W) -9999 - clouds, snow 00:36Z 19 17 4 293 (WNW) -9999 - clouds, snow 01:08Z 19 17 1 279 (W) -9999 - clouds, snow 01:45Z 19 17 2 1 (N) -9999 - clouds 02:15Z 19 17 3 301 (WNW) -9999 - clouds 02:46Z 19 17 3 298 (WNW) -9999 - clouds 03:18Z 19 17 5 1 (N) -9999 - clouds, snow 03:48Z 19 17 9 16 (NNE) -9999 - 04:18Z 19 17 7 21 (NNE) -9999 - 04:50Z 19 17 3 355 (NNW) -9999 - 05:23Z 17 16 1 346 (NNW) -9999 - 05:55Z 17 16 7 28 (NNE) -9999 - 06:27Z 17 13 0 7 (N) -9999 - 06:59Z 18 16 1 355 (NNW) -9999 - 07:31Z 18 16 2 350 (NNW) -9999 - 08:04Z 17 15 4 60 (ENE) -9999 - 08:36Z 17 14 11 78 (ENE) -9999 - 09:08Z 16 14 12 62 (ENE) -9999 - 09:40Z 16 13 13 75 (ENE) -9999 - 10:12Z 14 11 15 67 (ENE) -9999 - 10:45Z 14 11 14 71 (ENE) -9999 - 11:17Z 13 11 9 72 (ENE) -9999 - 11:49Z 14 11 12 80 (E) -9999 - 12:21Z 14 10 15 77 (ENE) -9999 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Never opened due to weather.
