We also had to reboot the spectro crate and restart the servers later in the night. During our last plate while doing a preCal, the sop session reported that one the FF lamps was not working. We checked and discovered that one of the FF lamps had indeed failed. We finished plates: 1972, 2034, 1765, 1992, and 1675. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Based on the forecast temperature for tonight, the spectro collimation was adjusted. Numbers are in the Problems section. No problems to report. Night: ------ We started with spectro. 02:30Z Cart 01, plate 1972 (chunk100). A Fk5 star was necessary to find this field because of bright twilight. Plate was declared done when tonight's SN^2 was added to a previous MJD's; see below. When we started the guider on this field, however, the saoDisply was not updating although we could see the guider exposure counting down in the tccmon window. We did a stopMon, startMon, showGuiderFrame, and got the following message, i.e., sp1> showGuiderFrame Error: Star 2 won't fit in an 460*460 region, scaled 150 Finally, we did a startMon -simple to get an saoDisplay that updated. Plate was completed in three exposures. 05:48Z CArt 02, plate 2034 (chunk100). Guide stars on goToField. Plate was finished in three exposures. While the previous plate was mounted, we got the following Watcher error: "Secondary Dewar Pressure (FAULT!!! : 2005-04-06 06:39:11Z)." We noticed that the pressure guage/meter on the intermediate dewar of sp1 was near zero, so we forced filled the spectros although they were filled just after pulling the enclosure. Next, we did a sp1> startFillSeq, which made sp1 happy again. 07:13Z Because seeing had greatly improved and seemed stable during the last hour, we switched to the imager. Unfortunately, the seeing deteriorated, and we had to switch back to spectro at 09:00Z. 09:03Z Cart 06, plate 1992 (chunk100). An Fk5 was used to find this field. Plate was finished in three exposures. 10:15Z Cart 07, plate 1675 (chunk85). Guide stars on goToField. While doing the preCal, one of the flats was not displayed on the monitors in the control room. So, we had to reboot the spectro crate and restart the servers. This plate was finished with one exposure. 11:10Z Cart 09, plate 1400 (chunk70). We had a FF lamp to fail during this exposure and did not get beyond the preCal.
